Why does my food taste a bit different?

Can I drink through a straw?

Using a straw can sometimes pull the dentures away from your gums because of the suction. It is usually easier to sip from the edge of a glass until you feel very comfortable with how your teeth stay in place.

Should I be careful with hot coffee?

Yes! The plastic in the dentures can block the heat, so you might not feel how hot a drink is until it hits your throat. Always test the drink with your lips first to make sure it won’t burn you.

What if a seed gets under my teeth?

If a small bit of food gets trapped, it can hurt a lot. It is best to go to the bathroom, take the denture out, and rinse it with water. Putting it back in clean will stop you from getting a painful sore on your gums.
