At Bold Dental, we believe dentures are not great because of what they’re made of—they’re great because of how they’re made. Materials matter, but expert design and clinical execution matter more. That’s why we follow our Core 4 Philosophy, a framework that ensures every set of dentures we deliver meets the highest clinical and functional standards.
1. FUNCTION
Function is the foundation of every successful denture—and it’s defined by precision.
- Vertical Dimension of Occlusion (VDO): This refers to the space between your upper and lower jaws when your teeth are in contact. If this space is too open or too closed, it can cause jaw strain, an aging facial appearance, or difficulty chewing.
- Tooth Placement Over the Ridge: For stability and comfort, teeth must be placed over the long axis of the ridge—the central bone structure that remains after natural teeth are removed. This reduces tipping and increases support.
- Bite Registration & Centric Relation: We capture the most natural jaw position when the upper and lower jaws are in harmony—this is called centric relation. It helps prevent pain, popping, or dysfunction in the jaw joint (TMJ).
- End Goal: No cheek biting. No lip or tongue interference. No strain in the jaw. Just smooth, effortless function.
2. RETENTION
Retention is what keeps the denture in place—and it’s not guesswork.
- Proper Impressions & Adjustments: We follow impression techniques and post-fabrication protocols rooted in the principles of Dr. Joseph Massad’s Neutral Zone—the space where your muscles naturally rest and function. This ensures soft tissue harmony without interference in speech or chewing.
- Anatomy Matters: Retention depends heavily on your unique oral anatomy. We evaluate for:
- Tori: Bony growths that may disrupt denture fit.
- Short Vestibule Heights: The shallow space between your lips/cheeks and gums that can limit suction and seal.
- Shallow Palatal Vault: A flatter roof of the mouth can reduce upper denture retention.
Your bone, tissue, and muscle all play a role. We take every detail into account.
3. PHONETICS
Dentures shouldn’t change the way you speak—they should help restore it.
We assess speech sounds like “F,†“V,†“S,†and “T†during your fitting and adjust the denture as needed to eliminate lisping, muffled tones, or whistling. Your voice should still sound like you.
4. AESTHETICS
Last—but never least—is how your smile looks.
A beautiful smile is more than just white teeth. We evaluate facial support, midline, smile arc, tooth shape, and shade to create a look that is natural, flattering, and uniquely yours. A denture should enhance your appearance, not compromise it.
The Bottom Line
Dentures are not simple. They require skill, precision, and experience. The success of your denture depends on the expertise of the provider, not the brand of acrylic or the shade of teeth. At Bold Dental, we are unapologetically obsessed with doing it right.
We proudly use Ivobase Injected PMMA and Phonares II teeth—some of the highest-grade materials available worldwide. Our on-site lab gives us full control from start to finish, ensuring predictable, high-quality results.
Unlike many corporate clinics, we never charge for adjustments on dentures we fabricate. If we built it, we stand behind it. You deserve a successful outcome, and it’s our job to deliver on all Core 4 principles: Function. Retention. Phonetics. Aesthetics.
Bold Dental. Dentures Done Right. Don’t settle for less. Choose a team that puts precision over production and patients over profit.
